sweet summertime.

Summer is in full swing around here!!!

A few weeks ago, we got to experience the Des Moines Farmer's Market and it was so much fun!!!
There were people everywhere but it was a good change of pace from our typical Saturday routine.
Can't wait to go again. Fresh flowers, fresh and locally grown produce, treats and coffee <3

Peonies are my most favorite flower. They are just so full and luscious and smell amazing.

Little miss picked me some fresh flowers too and although hers look a little like weeds, very pretty weeds at that (haha) they are very near and dear to my heart!

She sure knows how to get her sunbathing on at such an early age!
However, she will grow up knowing the importance of sunscreen and taking care of her skin!!!

Daddy's golf caddy companion.

Visits from Granny and Grampy (not pictured) are always a treat.
We sure do love them.

Looking mighty fine in her traditional Mexican dress from Nani.

Sidewalk chalk castles for the princess.

28. Sounds so old! But I had an amazing birthday and had a nice dinner out with these two loves of mine.

pure cupcake joy!!!

Megan and Michelle, best cousins ever sent B her first water sprinkler.
And she loves it!

Toddler Tumble Time

So every Thursday a local church has Toddler Tumble Time in their gym for free! I was so glad when a friend from our church passed on this little gem of information. I have been looking for something like this for Blaykleigh and I to do during these preposterously hot summer days. It gives us a change of scenery, lets her interact with other littles her age, zaps her of all that toddler energy aaand did I mentions it's free?! Nothing beats FREE entertainment.

I think we may have a basketball star on the rise?!
And let me tell you how thrilled Jason was to see these pictures!

Blaykleigh is just the sweetest little girl.
I love her tender heart!
Always patting, hugging or kissing her "friends".

First time in a bounce house.
Why didn't they have these when I was little?! These are way better than dirty ball pits.

At it again.
I think it's about that time we invest in a pink basketball hoop for little miss!

This place is air-conditioned.
I however was a sweaty, hot mess chasing this one around for nearly 2 hours.

I think it is safe to say she enjoyed herself.
You'll know where to find us come next Thursday!

Insta-Friday: Kansas style

After a 12+ hour drive straight through the night, we had finally reached Kansas and what a beautiful sight it was!

Once we rested up some, we took Blaykleigh to surprise her Granny at work!!! Quickly she became the star of the office showing off all her "tricks".

Wasn't much of a surprise that Blaykleigh found herself a new furry friend!

Cousin l-o-v-e-i-n!

Blaykleigh's Great Grandma whom she walked to ... for the very FIRST time!!! What a wonderful memory to cherish.

Ahhhhhhh SuperTARGET.
I ((heart)) you!

This little girl is loved so much by so many people!

Since her Granny & Grampy couldn't make it to her first birthday, they threw her another one! Such a lucky little beauty, two 1st birthday's!

Granny hugs!

Saying her goodbyes to all of Granny's garden critters!

We miss you guys!!!

We had such a wonderful time on our vacation in Kansas! Got to spend a lot of overdue time with family and made so many special memories but just like that, we were on our way back to Texas.

Day at the zoo

I have been to several zoo's in my 26 years of life but I think the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, KS takes the cake! This zoo was so well laid out and had so much character to it, that I for one was throughly impressed. So much so, that I didn't even mind that it felt like we walking on the face sun that day but even that wasn't an issue because they had these wonderful misters at just about each exhibit. Kudos SCZ, kudos!

They have a rather large petting zoo there as well, Blaykleigh was completely fascinated by all the goats! I am still trying to talk Jason into letting us add one to our collection of animals (wink, wink). So far it has been a solid "NO" but it never hurts to keep trying!

I think my favorite exhibit were the cats - the very, very large version of our cuddle balls of fur at home! I bet Blaykleigh would have enjoyed them as well but that just so happened to be the exhibit where she decided to take a little "cat nap". If these beautiful creatures were herbivores she would have looked awful cute cuddled between the two sleepy cougars!

By the time we reached the monkeys she was awake and had the time of her life communicating with them through the plexiglass windows! There was a lot of "ooo ooo aaa aaa" coming from her as she bounced up and down along side the window, she was even intriguing enough for the orangoutang to leave his lettuce and come check her out. Once we reached the gift shop, I think she had a little identity crisis going on! (only kidding) but placing her amongst all the monkeys was a really cute photo opp.
